My artistic approach
Self-taught, I have made my studio a space for personal exploration, where drawing, practiced since childhood, is a first language. It was never a hobby, but a necessary refuge to give shape to what I felt, even before I knew how to say it any other way.
Learning on one's own means accepting the long stretch of trial, error, and uncertainty. Every failure on the canvas was a lesson, every missed gesture a necessary step toward understanding the chemistry of pigments and the dynamics of the line.
It is from this slow learning process, through oil, acrylic, and watercolor, that my signature was born:
« A painted detail, a revealed emotion. »
My painting in two movements
My practice focuses in particular on the human figure, in search of a balance between two necessities.
Figurative rigor : my anchor in the real. It allows me to explore the richness of the visible, to search for the truth of a gaze, the light that sculpts the architecture of a face, the delicacy of a gesture.
Abstract escape : it comes into play to free what the line cannot contain. Through plays of transparency or impasto, I paint the invisible: raw emotions, fragmented memories, everything that eludes the tangible.
What I first sought for myself, as a child, through painting, I now seek in the eyes of others. Because it is their emotion that completes the work, making each piece a mirror of our own sensibilities.
