Here, where it all begins
My name is Raphaël Viviant. My goal is to make the invisible visible.
Since the age of 6, I filled my pages with landscapes where the sun always shone on the left, animals built like geometric puzzles, and birds drawn as "V" shapes. I wasn't trying to draw well. I was looking for a place to put what I couldn't name any other way: an anger, a joy too big to hold, a question with no answer.
I didn't know it yet, but those first strokes were already a way of existing a little louder than silence.
Even today, that same instinctive energy guides my painting, in my studio, a cocoon where each day begins with the smell of fresh paint and a light that glides gently across the canvases.
The oil tubes open to tell a new story, the brushes wait patiently, and the colors blend on the palette. Every material, every canvas, every gesture already carries an intention, even before the first stroke.
I settle in, I observe, I test, I explore. Sometimes I move forward with certainty, sometimes I doubt, I erase, I start again.
It is in this constant movement that the emotions I seek come to life.
Preserving my creations all the way to your home
Every piece I create is designed to last.
After the final touches, I apply an anti-UV varnish that protects the colors over the long term. Each piece is then wrapped in archival-quality glassine paper, the kind used by conservators. Completely neutral, acid-free, anti-abrasive, and translucent, it protects the painted surface from friction, dust, and marks.
This combination of protective varnish and glassine paper ensures optimal preservation for every painting, from the easel all the way to your home.
