There are periods in life when we sense that something is changing within us, without managing to put words to it.
We are no longer quite the person we were, without yet having become the one we will be.
This in-between is what I wanted to paint : not the starting point, not the arrival, but the passage itself.
This passage is not always comfortable.
It often requires going through difficult periods: doubts, losses, moments of questioning.
That is why I chose to incorporate gold leaf into this piece: every experience we go through, even the hardest, leaves a trace that holds value.
Nothing we live through is lost: everything contributes, in one way or another, to the person we become.
Changing is not losing oneself.
It is growing.

Are the edges of the canvas uniform?
The edges of the canvas are painted, but may show slight color variations. This occurs particularly if the background or the first layer of the work touches the edges. These nuances are part of the unique character of each painting.
