There are moments when everything stops, without our having decided it.

The feather falls, then settles on the edge: its course ends on its own, without needing to be forced.
We move constantly between two forces pulling us in opposite directions: our ambitions, which push us to run, and our needs, which ask us to stop. We tend to think balance is found by choosing one or the other.

In reality, it lies between the two, in that space we don't dare to inhabit.
The feather, for its part, chose nothing.
It simply let itself be carried until it found its place.

This is the lightness I wanted to paint.
Not the absence of effort: the feather, too, had to let itself be carried by the air and adjust to every current.

What I wanted to paint is trust. The kind that allows us to let go without fearing the fall, and to discover that sometimes very little is needed to find our balance again.
